I’m excited to share a recent brand illustration project with world renowned brand Shakti Mat.
I’ve personally been using a Shakti Mat for over a decade - long before I had the chance to work with them - and it’s been a consistent tool for easing back pain and supporting my mind-body connection. So when the opportunity came up to collaborate with them it felt like a full-circle moment.
Working closely with the Shakti team, I created a suite of motif illustrations that honour the essence of their new Footmat product: an acupressure tool designed to activate the reflex points and meridians in the feet, connecting to the entire body. The brief called for unique artwork with meaning, intention, and heart - something that would feel like a gift in itself.
Inspired by Indian folk art, the motifs are layered, expressive, and rich with symbolism to tell a deeper story. With an organic, hand-drawn aesthetic, each illustration forms part of a broader visual narrative grounded in ancient wisdom, Eastern philosophy and Western philosophy.
They explore concepts such as aura, chakras, reflexology and the nervous system, alongside practices like meditation and breathwork. The artwork also pays homage to Indian rituals, Hindu mythology, and the handmade craftsmanship that defines every Shakti Mat - celebrating the mysticism, symbolism, and spirituality that bridge the physical and energetic, ancient and modern realms.
Every detail was considered to reflect not just the product’s function, but the spirit behind the company. Together, the motifs invite users to slow down, connect inward, and explore how ancient wisdom can support modern life.
The Footmat has just launched across Europe. I’m proud and grateful to have played a part in bringing it to life.
