Inspired by the view of Aoraki/Mount Cook over Lake Pukaki, NZ — a landscape that’s been on my list to paint for years, our most powerful mountain and iconic lake in the country. After a field trip late last year, I spent time exploring different edges of the lake and searching for the right perspective, and the concept clicked. I took reference images and brought that moment — that energy — back to my home studio, where this piece slowly came to life.
